The aim of the design submitted into the competition was to create a hotel with a restaurant, a bistro and a café – a place for a weekend trip or just a break for local hikers or holiday-makers from far away. The ground plan in a shape of a cross enables operating within a compact arrangement, outside it creates four different spaces – courtyards with different atmospheres. The concrete plinth on the ground fl oor complements with the prevailing mass timber, having a calm conversation with the forest nearby.
